Product graphics are one of the most versatile and multi-purpose features of the service. With product graphics, your customers can use their photos in countless ways, such as posters, magnets, holiday cards, thank-you cards, photo mugs, and more.

Creating a Graphics Set and Selecting Graphics

To start using graphics, create a graphics set under Product Graphics > Graphics Sets in the admin panel. Give the graphics set your preferred name. This name is for your reference only and will not be shown to your customers.

You can also choose to set this graphics set as the default for photo events that do not have a specific graphics set assigned. The default graphics set is also used when customers order products using their own photos (if you have enabled this feature).

When creating or editing a graphics set, you will see a list of graphics categories on the left. By clicking on a category name, you will see the product graphics within that category. Check the graphics you want to include in this set.

Pricing Graphics

In the graphic’s details, you will see which products the graphic is available for, its production cost, and you can set your own retail price for it. Graphics with background removal functionality include a background removal fee. Some graphics in the service are designed by external graphic designers and may have a designer-set price, which is displayed in the production price field.

Using Graphics Sets in Photo Events

When creating a photo event, you can select which graphics sets are available for that event under the Product Graphics section. You can select one or multiple sets. If the sets include the same graphic with different prices, the lowest price will be used. This allows you to offer certain graphics at a lower price for specific events while maintaining regular pricing elsewhere by adding those graphics to a separate graphics set and applying that set to the desired events.

Automatic How It Works

The automatic background removal uses AI (artificial intelligence) to determine which parts of the photo to keep and which to remove, analyzing edges such as hair and clothing to create a natural-looking separation between the subject and the background.

Automatic background removal works best on portraits taken against fairly uniform backgrounds where the subject clearly stands out and where both the subject and any props are sharp.

Pricing for Automatic Background Removal

The system performs background removal on preview-sized images at the ordering stage for free, and the high-resolution removal is performed only after the order is confirmed. The high-resolution background removal costs €0.50 per ordered photo.

The removal operation is performed only once per ordered photo, even if the same photo is ordered in multiple copies, products, or orders. The background removal fees are automatically deducted from your payout for the current week.

If you use pre-cutout images, the removal process is not performed, and no fee is charged.

Reviewing Orders with Automatically Removed Backgrounds

The background removal algorithm has been trained and tested with hundreds of thousands of portraits. However, the automation is not always perfect, so orders containing automatically cutout images will remain in “Pending Review” status after payment and will not move directly to production. This allows you to visually check that the cutout has been applied correctly and that the order is otherwise ready for printing.

If you prefer that orders with automatically cutout images proceed directly to production, you can disable this review step under Settings > Image Processing > Set orders with automatically cutout images to Pending Review.

Editing a Cutout Image

From the order details, you can click on the image file name to open the image details and download the cutout version. You can then correct the cutout in your photo editing software and upload the corrected file by clicking the cloud icon next to the filename in the image details.

If you want to generate a cutout version of a photo that has not yet been ordered with cutout products, you can click the three-dot icon in the image details and select Generate Cutout Version.

Customizing Graphics

Event-Specific Logos and Colors

Some graphics have placeholders for event-specific logos, commonly used in sports-themed graphics where the sports team’s logo is included.

You can upload a logo for the photo event from the event details. It is recommended to use a .PNG file with a transparent background, with a sufficiently large resolution (approximately 3000–6000 px) to ensure high-quality printing even at larger sizes.

In addition to the logo, you can set primary and secondary colors in the event details. For sports events, these are typically set to the team’s colors, allowing some graphics to use these colors in their design to match the team’s identity. If your photo event does not require specific colors, you can leave these fields empty, and the graphics will use their default colors.
